Mustang Powder Lodge
About Mustang Powder Lodge
|
We are in the Monashees - which are famous for steep tree skiing in deep light powder. However, we have tons of alpine skiing and one Glacier. There is lots of moderate terrain - as well as steep, challenging runs. If the visibility is good we are up in the alpine; if it is snowing we are in the glades and trees. Our forests are mostly old growth - so the spacing between the trees is good. Our ldoge is located at 5750 ft. so the first run of the day is only a 5 or 10 minute cat ride. We are a 'skiers' operation. Our skiing program caters to keen, fit skiers who want to get lots of vertical and experience interesting and challenging terrain (when stability allows)
Guests eat their lunch during the snowcat ascents - so we don't waste time stopping to eat. Our philosophy is to give our guests as much skiing/boarding as they want each day. We put our clocks on daylight savings time in order to optimize the daylight and do approx. 8 hours of skiing each day. This means we typically ski 15-20,000 vertical per day. Guests that are less ambitious or not very fit are encouraged to alternate runs, so that they don't get too worn out.
Our staff is friendly and professional - and the atmosphere in the lodge is relaxed. (People rarely dress up for dinner.)

Guide Certifications & Experience
| All of our lead guides have ACMG Mountain guide certification. We have assembled an incredible team of lead guides who are the envy of the industry! All of our lead guides have 15-30 years experience heli skiing, mountaineering etc. Our tailguides are all either ACMG assistant guides or CSGA level 1 ski guides. |
Equipment Used
| We operate two groups of 12 skiers/boarders in our new Pisten Bully 300 snowcats. These are very powerful, efficient and smooth snowcats - increasing the amount of skiing we can offer our guests and their comfort in the passenger cab.
Guests are transported from our trailhead by bus for 45 minutes, and then an hour snowcat ride up to the lodge. |
Ski Areas Nearby
| Silver Star, Revelstoke, & Sun Peaks are all close by. Lake Louise, Kicking Horse or Sunshine can all be skiied en route from Calgary. |
Booking Policy
| We require 25% payment upon booking, and the balance due by November 15 prior to the ski season. Most of our high season sells out a year in advance. There are still some spots left for groups in the 2007/2008 season in December and March. |
Training & Instruction
| Prior to skiing/boarding on the first day of your holiday, guests have a safety briefing and transceiver practice. |
Packages & Pricing
