Silverton Powdercats
About Silverton Powdercats
|
Nearly any time during our season, one can experience good conditions. It really depends on yearly and seasonal cycles. By mid-November there is usually enough snow to begin our six month season. This time of year is often just as good as mid-winter. December and January are the coldest months of the season so the snow will stay light and dry for longer periods of time after storms. February is also a reliable month for powder and is typically reserved by eager powderhounds before any other month. Statistically, March is our biggest snow month and this weather pattern can extend well into April. Daytime temperatures may be significantly warmer during these months so there are sometimes periods of superb corn skiing. As winter turns to spring and summer starts to bear down on the lowlands, May offers the "ultimate carving" perfect corn conditions for those of us still stricken with ski fever.
