About the Riding
Wintergreen’s two Terrain Parks offers skiers and snowboarders the chance to practice freestyle skills on snow features, jibs and rails. The parks are home to events and competitions including Freestyle Rail Jams, the Blue Ridge Doublecross and the Glass & Powder Slopestyle.

Rental packages include skis or snowboard, boots and poles. All equipment is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The resort offers a Season Rental Pass for equipment rentals.

Racing Programs & Competitions
Wintergreen is proud to be the home venue for the University of Virginia’s Ski & Snowboard Race Team. In addition, a variety of teams make up the Wintergreen Race Program. The resort’s Ski Race Team, Development Team, Snowboard Team and Freestyle Team are coached and trained by Wintergreen staff and participate in competitions both on and off the mountain. Teams consist of skiers and snowboarders ages seven to 18.

Recent Improvements
This winter, there are plenty of new things in store for guests, including:
New Learning Areas: For those new to skiing and snowboarding, Wintergreen is opening a brand new beginner area will have new beginner-friendly conveyor lifts and terrain designed specifically for guests learning the sport. Top-notch instruction is available with Wintergreen’s “learn to ski guarantee”.

Rental Shop Improvements: To make sure guests spend their time on the slopes and not in line, Wintergreen has invested in rental shop improvements and new HEAD rental equipment this season.

More Snow: Experienced skiers and snowboarders will appreciate this year’s improved snowmaking coverage. Wintergreen is expanding its world-class York® snowmaking system, adding 10 new snowmaking guns to the expert Highlands slopes and two to the new learning areas.
