SKI and SKIING Magazines Resort Guides for many years gave Taos Ski Valley much acclaim. North America’s top resorts are rated by SKI and SKIING readers on everything from service to weather and Taos was included in the top 25 resorts in North America in both publications and was ranked #1 in best weather in SKI. Taos also received top marks in terrain, challenge and value

The rankings are a real compliment since skiers know and ski all the resorts. Taos Ski Valley’s General Manager, Gordon Briner stated, "This recognition is flattering coming from readers and it reinforces our commitment to the Taos experience." This year's rankings prove that year in and year out, Taos' mountain ranks among the best. Recent publications about Taos Ski Valley can be found in Skiing magazine October 2008.

The terrain is uncrowded. The village is unpretentious. The surroundings are unspoiled.

Taos' 1,200 ski-able acres offer variety for all ability levels including some of the most challenging terrain in the west and 302 inches of annual snowfall ensure a perfect skiing and snowboarding experience.

Lucky for you, Ernie Blake was a stubborn man. He spent half his life searching for the perfect skier’s mountain and when he found it, ignored all advice to walk away. Assessing the deep desert-dry powder, the incredible combination of terrain, and the abundant sunshine, Ernie was convinced his mountain possessed all the qualities of a great ski resort. "I pray there is no reincarnation. Nothing could equal the journey I’ve had. And everything else would be a boring encore."
